PENGUIN PAINTING

Penguin skating with paint!

Assemble penguin paint stampers before offering this craft to the children.

You will need
Thick card, glue, craft knife, small pieces of foam.

For the children
White and blue poster paint, black or dark blue paper to paint onto.

1. Print out penguin template.
2. Stick to stiff board/card (if possible protect by covering with sticky back plastic) cut out shape.
3. Gently score the dashed line above feet. Do this on the back of penguin so that the feet then fold forwards.
4.  Cut out a small square of foam and glue to the bottom of the feet.

Hold the penguin by the body and let the child dip it’s feet into either colour (or both!) paint.
Encourage them to push/glide/slide/slip the ‘feet’ around the paper whilst imagining where the penguin is going eg – around a boulder and over a snowy hill!

And here's a great penguin themed worksheet to help with those pencil control activities.
